CULTURAL VISIT TO HIMEJI CITY, JAPAN

As briefly outlined at the recent "Meet the Teacher" evening we will again be involved in a cultural exchange programme with Himeji City, south of Osaka, Japan.

A combined group of 22 students from both Farm Cove Intermediate School and Bucklands Beach Intermediate School will travel to Japan, departing on 7 July and returning on 17 July. The majority of this trip is during the mid-year school holiday break.

Our schools have had a long involvement in this exchange programme. A group from Japan visits us annually and we reciprocate every two years.

This is a self-funded trip with costs expected to be in the vicinity of $3,200 for students and approximately $3,400 for adults. We also take two parents from each school as added support. For those who can afford for their son/daughter to participate in this programme the students do have a most memorable experience. They are involved in activities that are simply not possible to do as a regular tourist eg. homestay with a Japanese family.

If you wish to find out more please come to an information evening being held at the Farm Cove Intermediate in the staffroom on the evening of Monday, 5 March at 5.30 pm when further details will be outlined. This is an information evening only with no commitment expected at that time.

To give us some indication as to likely interest, please send the slip below back to our office.

I am happy to discuss details further if you want to give me a call.

Kind regards

Linda Harvie
Principal
