Farm Cove Intermediate School is located in Pakuranga, a suburb east of Auckland’s city centre. The school provides an education designed specifically for the 11-13 year old age group. Farm Cove Intermediate School offers all students an extensive range of learning and life experiences in the two intermediate school years, while preparing them for future secondary school study.
Farm Cove Intermediate School provides an attractive and supportive learning environment catering for a roll of 550-600 students. The school is committed to maintaining a warm and friendly environment which caters for the individual needs of each child including international students.
Farm Cove is a variable space school with senior staff members having responsibility for the day-to-day running of areas.
Your son or daughter has the opportunity to master the fundamental skills of reading, writing and speaking English in addition to other core subjects like mathematics and science.
Throughout the year, all students attend specialist classes including food technology, materials and electronics technology, art, music, science and information and communication technology. Computing technology is also implemented through the school, with each area being well equipped with computers.
The school hall has been designed as a theatre and is used fully for assemblies, musicals, music festivals and community activities. The purpose-built gymnasium is used for selected physical education classes and indoor sporting activities including basketball, table tennis and badminton.
Farm Cove Intermediate has been a recipient of various awards including the MultiServe/Telecom Information Award and has won the Goodman Fielder School of the Year Award in the large Primary/Intermediate section twice.
